Oil Hose Production Application

Fuel Hose Production Process

In production facilities, quality components are formulated and integrated into the manufacture of braided and spiral hoses. The basic components include the inner tube designed for the required chemical compatibility, hose reinforcement layers of fabric or wire for strength and pressure ratings, the layer stock between and bonding the layers of reinforcement, and the hose cover for protection. 

The mandrel is extruded, cooled, and inspected before the inner tube is loaded into the extruder and tested for material quality and thickness. Then, fabric or wire is braided around the inner tube, and layer stock is applied between the reinforcement layers. 

The hose cover is then extruded over the hose stock with a layline containing critical hose information such as its purpose and pressure ratings, its manufacturing plant, and the date code. 

The hose is then cured in large pressurized steam-heated ovens, the mandrel is blown out, and the hose is proof tested and packaged for shipping.
